September Arrivals

New Stockholm Art
Posted on 16/09/2020

There are few things quite as invigorating as the first few crisp days blowing in and chasing away the lingering balm of summertime. September is the epitome of this in-between season; not quite summer anymore, and not quite autumn yet. It is a month of hope and reprise. A time to prepare for the winter to come and to reflect on the summer that has passed.

To welcome September, we have added nine lovely new arrivals to the Kolla catalogue thus far, each one reflective of September sentiments. These new arrivals feature beautiful photographs from Levi Bergstedt, Hans Rabén, Rikard Jörnesten, Lasse Lundberg, Kim Sandberg, and Giacomo Buzzao.

As with each batch of new arrivals, we are confident that there is something for everyone to enjoy. And as with each one-of-a-kind Kolla art piece, each order is handmade just for you and available in limited quantities - just the way art should be.

Armonía Verde

Photographer: Giacomo Buzzao

When the summer lights get delicate right before dusk, Stockholm becomes a fairytale movie set. Definitively the best time of the day for switching the camera on and wandering around lost: on a bike without a destination. Better therapy for disquiet days has yet to be discovered! Armonía Verde was shot during one of these "promenade"; I was struck by a sudden feeling of ancestral peace, as I fortuitously stumbled upon Kaknässpåret.

Korsning X

Photographer: Rikard Jörnesten

Stockholm is beautiful, not only from the ground, but also from the sky with all the unique buildings and streets forming interesting shapes. This one is captured an early morning above Vasastaden when the sun lit up parts of the buildings, creating contrasts.

Suburban Symmetry

Photographer: Levi Bergstedt

Being home during the COVID-19 pandemic has provided opportunity to see my home during before unseen times of day and days of the year; to look without stress and free from rush. Here just coming back from a cold and windy walk the houses lined up just right to be the same street as every time I walk past while looking a little neater and a little tidier when I had the time to stop and really see.

Djurgårdsfärjan

Photographer: Hans Rabén

A rainy day with thunderstorms can be a great day for photography, particularly if you like shooting in black and white. The sun shines through and the little ferry from Djurgården is lit up for all of Stockholm to see.

Early Strandvägen Morning

Photographer: Levi Bergstedt

Coming into the office early one morning as many others, looking out through the windows towards a rising Stockholm, the sun creeping slowly up behind the Nordic Museum and gently lighting Strandvägen and Nybroviken lying tentatively calm and waiting for day to break. Opening the window the mentholated breeze is cool on my face and the click of the camera is all I can hear. I am alone but kept company by all the other times I have looked out this same window and never seen this same view. It is beautiful. I look into the viewfinder; it is not the same, but I still find it beautiful.
