Each month our co-founders Cole Roberts and Jakob Granqvist will update you on the ins and outs of Kolla. This time Jakob shares more from the most recent addition to Kolla: printing your own photos in The Lab.
We're so excited to announce a whole new service to Kolla this week – the possibility to upload and print your own photos in The Lab. Same high quality paper (matte Hahnemüle) as our regular Kolla prints, same printing methods (Inkjet), but your own photos. Add our perfectly-fitted passepartouts and Swedish-made frames and your digital photographs are turned into works of art.
The reasoning behind this addition is the same as for when we started Kolla in the first place: we want photographs to be printed. Pictures shouldn't be sitting on a hard-drive somewhere, collecting dust. They deserve to be seen in print, ideally using high-quality production methods and printed on great paper.
Simple and Easy
Something that's restricted me personally from printing my own photos in the past, is that ordering prints has been somewhat of a hassle. Complicated websites, hard to know how to prepare files, what paper to select, what print method to choose, and so on...
For some reason, printing seems to be a complex process. But it doesn't have to be. Just like our other products, we want Kolla printing to be a friendly service that's easy to understand.
For us, that means:
- Limited paper options.
- Standard print sizes.
- Choose passepartout or no passepartout.
- Choose frame or no frame.
- Upload your image.
Should there be something wrong with your image file, we'll fix it or get in touch.
Our goal is to make ordering great prints as easy as possible, so that this process isn't an obstacle for you to get your photos from hard-drives to paper.
Production time is 1-2 working days and shipping is free on orders over 1000 SEK (otherwise 49 SEK in Sweden, 99 SEK internationally).
We're starting small, and look forward to adding on more products later on. In the meantime, if you see something wrong, if something could be easier, or if perhaps you run into a problem when ordering, we'd love for you to get in touch.
Just shoot an email and quickly describe the issue, and we'll do our best to fix it ASAP.
We hope for this to be your new place to get your photos printed. So that you'll do so more frequently, and give your photos the love they deserve.
