Always Moving Forward

Kolla 2.0
Posted on 14/08/2019

Welcome to the new and improved Kolla as we embark on a whole new standard to photography art prints.

Today marks a fresh start for Kolla's product, production, packaging, and distribution as all received significant upgrades.

Let's peek beneath the hood at Kolla 2.0.

Branded Passepartouts

Kolla prints will now come mounted in our new and unique branded passepartouts, bringing the photographs to life.

The acid-free white passepartouts are slightly warm in their tone, and come with a front and a back. There's a subtle Kolla logo debossed in the bottom right corner, which adds sophistication and uniqueness, and attached on the back is a Certificate of Authenticity with the photographer's name, the print name, edition number, and more.

The difference between a print in these passepartouts and simply having a margin (a white border) around the picture is significant.

High-Quality Paper

We've upgraded our paper and now print exclusively on premium Fine Art Hahnemüle paper. Hahnemüle is widely recognized as the finest paper in the printed art world, and transitioning to their products is a significant step forward for Kolla.

Together with best-in-class 12 colour photo pigment ink printers, the Kolla prints are of highest quality.

Complemented with our branded passepartouts, you instantly feel the quality.

Brand New Packaging

If you've previously received a Kolla order, you won't recognize the new packaging. We've started fresh.

Prints are often shipped in tubes, risking damage when taking them out. Having been rolled up, the curled prints are hard to frame as they refuse to lay flat. We've removed shipping tubes altogether and replaced them with high-quality flat boxes. All prints aside from our very largest size (100x150 cm) are now shipped in these boxes, which come with an additional protective shipping layer for safe deliveries.

Inside the box you'll find your print mounted in the passepartout, next to your frame. Additional surprises include information about Kolla and about the photographer who's print you've ordered.

Editions of 50

One of our main goals with Kolla is to provide you with unique photography art. That's why we introduced Limited Editions for all Kolla prints recently, and now we're taking it one step further.

All photos will come in Limited Editions of maximum 50 copies. Once sold out, the print will not be available again, guaranteeing you a truly unique art piece.

Prints that have already sold in more than 50 copies will remain for sale in their previous edition numbers.

Swedish-Made Frames

We recently upgraded our selection of frames to a slightly thicker and more solid option. With a deeper embed, photos are presented in a more artistic manner.

These new frames are made in Sweden, using Swedish wood and come in three colours: black, oak, and white. All come with acrylic glass and are easy to mount and hang.

Next-Day Deliveries

Kolla prints are made on-demand and we do not keep stock of prints. When you place an order, the print is made by hand in-house at our production facility here in Sweden.

We've been able to cut down our production time from the previous 3-5 days to 1 day, meaning your order most likely will be shipped the day you order it or the day after.

We've been working on these changes for months, and we're very excited to finally be able to share them with you – we're certain you'll love them too.

As always, don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or thoughts. Our support is available 24/7.
